Тема: Відкриваємо Великобританію

Мета: Організувати ознайомлення учнів з новими лексичними одиницями за темою: власні назви, визначні місця Великобританії та усне тренування у вживанні лексичного матеріалу на рівні речення; ознайомити учнів з основними фактами про Великобританію; практикувати учнів у читанні тексту за темою уроку з добуванням детальної інформації; активізувати навички монологічного та діалогічного мовлення за темою; розвивати логічне мислення та здатність до здогадки: виховувати повагу до традицій та історичного минулого країни, мова якої вивчається.

Обладнання: підручник, зошит, карта Великобританії, презентація Power Point, картки для самостійної роботи.

Хід уроку:

T: Now we are going to make a trip around the UK. But first of all we should choose the transport.

a) The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland is situated on islands to the north-west of Europe.

b) Great Britain consists of three parts — England, Scotland and Wales.

c) The capital of the UK is London. It stands on the Thames River — the longest river in Great Britain.

d) The flag of the UK is made up of three crosses. It is red, white and blue. The English call their flag “the Union Jack” because it unites flags of all parts of the UK.

e) The highest mountain of the UK is Ben Nevis. It is in Scotland.

f) British money is called pounds and their coins are pence.

g) People of the UK keep their traditions. There is still the Queen in the country. She is the head of the United Kingdom.
